If i plant a radish seed in the soil, and it receives no sunlight, will it actually grow. I will have to measure it after 3 weeks.

So, what do you think the height would most likely be. I think it would be less than 5 inches.

Do you have an idea how much a plant would grow in the dark (no sunlight) after 3 weeks? You can give information about plants in general or about radish plants.

Thank you!

Along with some friends, I am planting an organic garden. We plan for it to be huge. I am trying to find out some good information on the following:

1) Canning (how to, dangers, expense, good links, cheap ideas)

2) Extracting seeds from my plants, to plant them again in years to come. (Also storing ideas, good links, cheap ideas)

3) Drying, I plan on planting tons O beans. I’d like to know the best way to get them so I can store them in a container on my counter. (to make them look like the bags of beans from the store) Again, good weblinks or cheap ideas.

4) If anyone has any other useful hints of food preservation, please let me know.

Any information would be welcome. So all my organic gardening, food preserving knowledge master, hippie friends, send me an answer please!

Thanks!!!
I should mention. We are using an organic heirloom seed company for our garden. So I am not sure if that would make it easier to yeild seeds for replant in the future?

Has anyone found any good links or info on biogas digesters that are capable of running a house? I have a lot of links but I would like to find some really complete home digester information. I have a ready source of bio material, the base of which is seaweed seeded with cow manure. Any good info out there?

Ok, so basically I’m growing catnip, after drinking a strong tea at a friend’s house, I was amazed, the great relaxation and sedative effects are great after a long day, and also, my cat will love it.

So, basically I went to my local garden center and bought 36 cell germination trays. I fill them with seedling soil and planted 9, with about 5 seeds in each, since I heard that catnip is not that fertile.

Basically, I put the tray under a black light, and fed it enough water once every day.

Now that 2 of the 9 are grown to like 1″ and a half, I got a old aquarium that I had laying around, and I stuck the plants in there. I put a 30w light over them, i filled it with about 1/4 inch of water at the bottom, so it will absorb but not suffocate the plant. I know I should put them in bigger pots, and I am going to the garden store tomorrow. So, I just want to ask, am I doing everything well? Will my plants grow well? Any information will help me alot! Thanks!
