I need some information on rosaries, symbolism, and giving them to others?

I plan on planting a Tears of Job, which is a plant that produces bead like seeds that already have a hole in the middle. I was planning to take those from my garden, and to make a rosary for my friend. (and to make african gourd rattles)

The problem is I am agnostic and do not understand the symbolism of the rosary; I want to ensure I make it correctly.

I know it has to be more than just a string of beads with a cross on it.

so please answer, if you can, the following:

1)How many beads on the rosary. I have noticed that there are usually ten small ones, then one large one…

2)at the bottom, where the cross is, does it matter how many beads there are

3)What is the symbolism of the rosary

3)Does the cross have to be a specific kind

4)Any other information would be rad.
